Then my handbag was stolen in Munich and WhatsApp made it clear that the smartphone age was heralding for me too. But since rare earths are built into a cell phone, I use it until it no longer works and don’t keep changing.

How do you feel about luxury? What does luxury mean to you?

The subject of luxury is what has changed the most for me. It is a luxury to have time. The luxury is even greater when I have this time to myself, which is very, very rare. And I find it a luxury that you can get so much knowledge from the net today. I love the Flowgrade.de podcasts and find it a luxury to keep getting good tools for a better quality of life that go far beyond fitness.

How sustainable do you describe the life you lead?

I really try to be sustainable. We also tried a little self-sufficient idyll in the garden during the Corona period, but we did not always succeed in harvesting due to a lack of experience. For example, I left our beautiful corn for too long. Now the animals get it on the children’s farm.

Speaking of which, children’s farm. To what extent can you lead a sustainable life with two eight-year-old children?

That is extremely difficult, because they come home with 1,000 wishes for things that no one needs. My son loves slime and dough and would love to buy a Ninjago magazine every day with plastic swords that barely survive a week in a fight with his sister. It is important to take countermeasures.

What are you personally doing to stop the climate crisis?

Consciously doing without again and again, using buses and trains when it is feasible, and consuming more consciously, and really not only switching to organic, but to Demeter.

"The work keeps you fit. It is a mistake to believe that one should only rest. I can do that in my already paid grave in Austria", says Antonius during the distance conversation in the actors’ permanently ventilated lounge.

She has been part of the afternoon series for 14 years. "Roses"-Season. "People in my age group are dying like flies, but there is no security. I am not afraid at all", emphasizes the small, brisk woman. "The isolation doesn’t get anything better, they die anyway. And psychological isolation damages people." But she is not careless in dealing with the rules in the pandemic.

"That is brave", says Bernhard Möllmann, press spokesman for programs at ARD, about Antonius’ courageous stance. "But this is also an exemplary series, precautionary measures were taken very early on." There is also a lot of testing, especially before scenes in which the protagonists get closer. The make-up artists are currently allowed to do make-up and hairstyle, but the actors made themselves ready to shoot. So a corona case has been avoided. The roses only had to pause for five weeks from March 23rd.

Antony fully understands all restrictions: "Better ‘Rote Rosen’ than not at all." She agrees with the political decisions in Germany and the role of the Chancellor in the crisis. "I love and admire Angela Merkel."

For six months in which she has not been allowed to shoot since spring due to corona, she had a comfortable life with commuting between Vienna and Burgenland, where she is at home. "I can be alone very well", emphasizes the Austrian with the charming accent. Her sister and friends of the actress, who played for a long time at the Burgtheater in Vienna, live in her home country. Going for a walk was like therapy during the difficult times – she once took 15-year-old Pinki in lonely and ill at a gas station and now fears for his life after a heart defect and years of medication.

The little companion is always with her, even when she drives through Lüneburg in her mini car. At the beginning of the lockdown in spring, she herself offered pastoral help by phone, but the Protestant is now going back to church herself. "I like that so much about the north that it is Protestant."

She met her fan club two to three times a year and served sweet treats from Austria. That won’t work this year. "But I am constantly spoken to", says the owner of the rose house, who is known to many viewers. While the leading actresses in the series, which are often intertwined in relationship issues, are regularly replaced after 200 episodes, Antonius has always been there.

But she got a real shock when a childhood friend called her in Austria because he had read that she had died. It was spread on YouTube in the summer that Antonius was not only pausing, but dead. "That was a special mess, I put an ad", she tells. Except for one new hip, the lively woman is healthy.

"I even did a dementia test. I was interested in." The result was brilliant. The well-traveled, who used to roam the USA, Canada and Guatemala with a one-woman piece and who has a foreign concept of home, no longer has big plans. "I love to live, but I don’t think about the future, I am happy about the day. Everything else is wasted time."
